PRESENTATION SUMMARY
One of the leading green architects in the state, Schenkel Shultz designed the first LEED Certified project in the State of Floirda, the Lynn Business Center at Stetson University in DeLand. Johnnie Lohrum talked about the numerous projects that Schenkel Shultz gas worked on, including the Conference venue – the Havert L. Fenn Center. Lohrum described the Schenkel Shultz approach to construction waste management, utilization of renewable resource materials, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing strategies to reduce life cycle building costs.
SPEAKER BACKGROUND
Johnnie Lohrum is a LEED certified architect with Schenkel Shultz Architecture, one of the leading green design firms in the state of Florida. SchenkelShultz built the first LEED certified building in Florida in 2002. As leaders in the education, aviation and commercial sectors nationwide, Schenkel Shultz designs every project to meet LEED design guidelines. Most recently, they designed the LEED Gold Certified Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at the Boca Raton Campus of Florida Atlantic University. The building is the first Gold Certified building in Southeast Florida. In addition, the new FBO Terminal for Signature Flight Support at the Boston-Logan International Airport is currently awaiting LEED Silver Certification. As Schenkel Shultz celebrates their 50th Anniversary, they continue to lead the way in green design in Florida. |
