PRESENTATION SUMMARY
The influence of transportation decisions on communities often leads to disastrous results and becomes the driver of how and where growth occurs. What if, instead of allowing transportation decisions to determine our fate, we started with a regional vision that would lead transportation investment decisions? Tim Jackson described how transportation rules often get in the way of good planning and how faster, wider roads are not always the right answer. He also showed how some communities are taking back the reins to determine their own sustainable future.
