PRESENTATION SUMMARY
Mike Hess reviewed the costs and profitability of building green through his experience as primary participant on numerous LEED certified projects and on the national board of the US Green Building Council. Hess showed practical examples of how sustainable design can give you an edge in the marketplace.
SPEAKER BACKGROUND
Mike Hess serves on the U.S. Green Building Council Board of Directors at the national level. He is currently on the USGBC Strategic Planning Committee, which recently issues a new plan that will set the course of the USGBC for the next five years. Mike is also a Principal at X-nth, a 350-person international design and consulting firm with eight offices. Mike leads X-nth Earth, which offers green consulting services. He has been a primary participant on many projects that have achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Certification and has been instrumental in making the firm sustainable in-house, integrating green design into standard design practices, and pushing sustainability to the next level.
X-nth is a design and consulting firm that provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire + life safety services and specialized services in commissioning, special building systems, laboratory planning and lighting design. X-nth’s markets include entertainment, healthcare, hospitality, gaming, mission critical and science and technology.
